i love these high-waisted wool leggings from owl.

we went to babies-r-us yesterday to look at the maclaren and city mini strollers in person. yikes! i was overwhelmed by the store and with how unnatural the materials used for baby products are… so much plastic, acrylic, etc. the place felt pretty toxic. and they’re not cheap! they do have some nice products if you search them out. but seeing these wool pants this morning was a reminder that there are plenty of options for baby things that are “made responsibly, out of materials that have beneficial properties and feel good” –well said on the owl website!

there are lots of great options for cloth diapers. after reading about them all, i chose to go with old fashioned pre-folds because i’m most familiar with them, having used them when i had a busy babysitting career (middle school through post-college). i ordered the organic indian cotton prefolds from green mountain diapers. they’re beautiful textiles in their own right! they come smooth and then they plump up and pucker after washing. each size has a different color edge stitch.

i like unisex style clothes for baby boys, rather than clothes that look like little men… but i’ve start to amass a small pile of button down shirts. they look like mini steven alan– pretty cute.
